A post! Can you believe it?

In July, my husband and I were part of two wonderful weddings. My cousin, Nici, married her boyfriend, Garret, in a absolutely lovely outdoor ceremony and reception. I was matron-of-honor and my hubby was a groomsman. A week later we were celebrating our friend Matt's vows to his girlfriend, Amber, in the gorgeous church I was married in. I was photographer at that one and Joe was a groomsman again. It was a real treat to see our friends tie the knot! More married couples to hang out with now, haha!

I made these wordarts as parts of gifts I put together for the couples, so I thought I'd share them with y'all, too.

Taking a Break (or: Stating the Obvious)

Well, I guess by now everyone has realized I am not doing well blogging on here this year. And that's an understatement, LOL.

I'm going to take a break from this blog. I'm not sure for how long, but I feel as though I need to make a real break on here, rather than keep promising to come back when I may not be up to it..
I truly love making wordart, but I haven't actually scrapped in over a year now. It makes me sad, if I'm being perfectly honest. I don't want to throw myself a blog-pity-party, but I think it boils down to the lack of children and, therefore, a lack of that special focus for my pages. It is fun to scrap my wedding, or high school days, but what I really want to scrap is a baby. So I don't. And my wordart goes unused by me and as time passes, it is harder and harder to sit down to design.

Thanks so much to all of you who have written, commented, downloaded and been so kind to me. I will be back at the wordart game, I just don't know when. You ladies are wonderful. I will be leaving up the freebies that are active now. I will also still take orders for previous wordart bunches, so feel free to order them if you'd like, you will receive your order quickly.

I would like to ask all of you who subscribe through readers to not dump me. I hope to be back again soon. And I might drop by very occasionally with a new freebie. I do still love doing this, I am just at a point now where I need a rest. My blog is still pretty new and I am still relatively unknown in the digi-scrap world, so I know I won’t be too missed ;)

All That I Have Seen

Gosh I'm sorry I've been away so long. Over a month, wow! 2010 has been such a stress for me so far and I have just not been feeling up to sitting down at my computer for extended periods. I am especially sorry I missed my Blogoversary yesterday, but MUCH thanks to Teena for the happy thoughts :)

BUT I'm back now. I do solemnly swear to make approximately one post a week as I begin the second year of this blog. I love blogging, making the wordart, the interactions with people, the whole deal.. and I need to get motivated to keep up with it.

I would love to join a forum. That seems to be the way to be social in the digi-scrap community and I feel like it is an aspect I have neglected too long.. My problem is I just don't have the time or energy to devote myself to a bunch of them, the way I know some people do.. I want a place to socialize that is low-pressure, fun, and has a great group of people to interact with. Just one for now, and then hopefully I will branch out. Any suggestions? Please! :)

Long Overdue New Year Post

Well, I apologize. I did make a New Year's Resolution to be a better scrapper/designer/blogger. But the new year snuck in with new issues and new ideas and I am left stressed and very busy. Right now there is a lot up in the air in my personal life, so I am sorry to report I will not be online to post for another few days.

But stick with me! I will be back by next week, with new bunches for sale, freebies to grab, and a lot more. I have plans, my real life is just putting a kink in them for now.

Hope everyone is having a good 2010 so far. 2009 was definitely NOT my year, so I'm putting a lot of pressure on this year to be better :)

Ah well I'm swamped. Working all day Monday through Wednesday this week because the kiddos are out of school for Christmas break. Also am missing a couple crucial Christmas gifts and have neglected cleaning my house quite long enough. *sigh. I'll get it together on Christmas Eve, no doubt. Last minute :)

Only an Aunt

So maybe I should talk a bit more in these posts, instead of just throwing freebies at y'all :)

Well my birthday was nice, but I got in a car accident (frowny face). I was in my employer's vehicle as well (SUPER frowny face). Thank goodness the kids I watch weren't in the car with me, and it was really just a bad fender bender, no one was hurt at all. The young lady I hit was -vocal- to say the least. Needs a lesson on how to handle stress; cussing and threatening violence really lead nowhere.. Anyway. I'm just glad no one was hurt and my boss wasn't too angry with me, very supportive actually and I am so grateful for that.

December is just so busy, I am having no time to hang out on my computer banging out wordart! I designed Christmas cards for both my sisters, but have YET to get to ours (ouch). I still have a bit of Christmas shopping to do and will be working more hours through the holidays since school is out and the kids I watch will be home all day. Plus my birthday happened (28 is still not quite sinking in) and my NINTH wedding anniversary is tomorrow (happy dance!). Whew! So these freebies I am doling out this month are actually gifts I've made for people. Each one will be printed, framed, and given for Christmas to a family member (mostly on my hubbie's side). With so much going on out here in the real world, I wanted to share with y'all a bit without having to eat up time I need to spend Christmassing!

Today's freebie will be a gift for my aunt, Lisa. She lived with my grandparents my whole life and I was very close to them and visited often, so she was always a part of that experience. When I was a kid, she was the one to treat me to Cadbury Creme Eggs, take me to movies in the theater(!), and let me choose the programs on her TV. Now that I'm an aunt, I understand a bit more how precious those nieces and nephews really are. I'm pretty fond of the 17 (going on 18!) that Joe and I share. Especially my four :)

It's my birthday! Yay!

Having a good one so far, just straightening the house, catching up on Dexter (i♥Dexter), stuffing myself with fast food (Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit for breakfast, headed to Subway for lunch), and tonight dinner with the hubbie. I have to work a bit this afternoon, but my job is such a breeze and so enjoyable, that doesn't phase me a bit! :)

Ah, a late evening post :)
It snowed last night! It was so gorgeous, Joe and I were out at 1am watching the flakes. They were huge and falling so slowly, it was exquisite. All melted away by noon today, but too beautiful in the middle of the night.

Dear God, We Gratefully Bow Our Heads

Hope everyone had a great holiday yesterday. Mine was nice, my whole family showed up and it was peaceful and pleasant. Lots of yummy turkey and watching all my nieces and nephews be generally cute :)

One thing that really struck me yesterday, that I wasn't expecting, was how I missed my Grandpa saying grace. It was always very simple, said with head bowed and hands folded. Something to the effect of: "Dear Lord, please bless this food to the nourishment of our bodies, direct and guide us, in Jesus name, Amen." How I miss his voice blessing our meals. I wish with I had a recording of his grace. It is a precious piece of my life, lost.

One more note about grace.. Growing up my immediate family did not pray, but grace was said faithfully at my grandparents' house. And all the adults thought it was so sweet to hear my sisters and I chorus, "God is great, God is good, let us thank Him for this food. Amen." And this went on for years.. Then one year I decided us children should coordinate a new prayer -for Thanksgiving!- and recite it instead, to surprise the grown ups. We were around the ages of 10(me), 6, and 4 years old, three sisters. I coached them for weeks in secret - although I know my parents knew what was going on. The end result wasn't the greatest, but that silly prayer remains firmly stuck in my head. I got it out of a prayer book for children, I wish I had that book... Anyway, today's freebie IS that prayer, how cute is that?

Remembering Those We Lost This Year

So today is the day. Let me be completely honest and up-front here, I have never been much of a Thanksgiving fan. I love the food and all, it's just never been a holdiay I get very excited about. And this year is especially rough after the loss of my Grandpa this summer. Am hoping today goes well.

So here is a little freebie for y'all, I hope your Thanksgivings are blessed with the family members you are lucky enough to still have around and the sweet memories of years past with those you've lost.

A Blessed Family, A Thankful Heart

Ah well it's been awhile, huh? But I always manage to show back up eventually :)

Things are doing well here. I'm in the middle of a cold; headaches, stuffy noses, coughs. It's unpleasant. I'm surviving, though.

We're having my family's Thanksgiving at my house this year. This is the first year we will ever have it away from my grandparents' house, but it is also the first Thanksgiving without my Grandpa, so we thought this might be easier on us all. I hope it all goes well. My hubbie is deep-frying a turkey, yumm. I really need to get busy cleaning house, though! This holiday has snuck right up on me!

Old Halloween Picture

Ok, last Halloween post, I promise.

I mentioned my years as a witch (warts, blacked out teeth, pointy hats, etc). It was always my favorite costume. And if you were reading my comments on that post, you might've noticed my sister piping up, naming her favorite costume as the Indian (Native American) one.

So I rustled up this picture. It's the Kirk girls, Halloween in the early 90's (pre-brother). Randi (me) the witch, Kelley the Indian, and our little sister Jesi, the pumpkin:

Another Halloween post! I'm excited about tomorrow night. My nephews are Spider-Man and Wubbzy and my nieces are a princess and a flower. I'm also looking forward to a visit from a troupe of little vampires! :) I don't dress up myself, just put on a jack-o-lantern top and answer the doorbell, but I have a good time!

Creepy and Kooky

Ahh I'm back! Did I scare you?

Again, I have no excuses for my extended absence beyond plain old laziness. I DID name this site Lazy Daisy, right? Because I sure am living up to it!

Things are fine out in the real world. My job keeps me busy as do household chores and all my TV shows :) I am loving the fact that the cool weather is staring to blow in, I love winter. Curling up next to our woodstove is the best.

And Halloween! While not my favorite holiday, it is a fun one. I am looking forward to handing out candy to all the goblins, ghouls, princesses and superheroes. I'm sad I never got around to trying my hand at a Halloween scrap kit this year, but I swear time just rushes right by me. I am definitely going to shoot for a Christmas kit, I absolutely adore Christmas :)

So I've been MIA again, I know. I have excuses! Recently I lost another great man from my life, my old band director, Louis Thornton. He was the sweetest man and such an inspiration to so many of his students. He retired my sophomore year of high school and I remember just bawling about it. He called us girls "Sunshine" and it brightened our days. He will be so missed. His funeral was tough to handle, though it was nice to see so many old faces.

THEN my hubbie somehow messed with my Photoshop and now it won't load. He has promised to fix it this evening and I will show back up with a post ASAP after that. Thanks for hanging in there with me, I appreciate it more than y'all know.

I have a font!

Ellie Lash is teaming up with her friend Ivy to make a new free font site (SugarFrogFonts.com) and she was looking for volunteers to submit their handwriting to build up their stock of fonts. I have been wanting a font of my own for ages, but never have done anything about it, so when her post popped up in my Google Reader, I was excited!

I sent my completed base template in yesterday and received my font this evening! What quick turnaround! Now I'm wishing I had girlier, prettier handwriting :)

Now my husband is wanting to do one of his own, as well as my cousin's 7 year old daughter. I need to print out a couple more templates! :)

Oh my goodness, yesterday was awful. My hubbie called a little before noon, he had forgotten a couple things he'd wanted to take to work and was asking if I could run them up to him. I said, ok! and thank God I did! When I went to my garage, there was water everywhere, and I mean everywhere. The cement was dark with it and a small river was running on the far side, the length of my garage and out the door. When I raised the garage door, I found a soaking wet driveway (neighbors' driveways = dry)! Turns out the water was leaking (POURING) out of the water heater. BAH!

So I called Joe and he hurried home. Turned off the water supply at the curb and did a little investigating. Turns out it's shot, no more water heater. And worst of all, the "shut-off valve" for the heater is busted as well, so we couldn't't turn our main water supply back on without starting another wave of water. Thank the good Lord I was caught up on things like laundry and dishes. What a mess.

Today, though, we seem to have it worked out, thankfully. I am sooo glad it's the weekend, I am looking forward to a couple days of sleeping late and catching up on my reading and wordart making :)

Wow, it's been too long. I have no excuse for my absence, really. First it was adjusting to my new job (I'm an after school mother's helper for a few hours each school day), then it was the flu that laid us low for a whole week, and then this weekend was busy, busy. Yay Friday! We're going tonight to see District 9 again. Has anyone else caught that movie? It was so intense and so good! I have been dragged reluctantly to many action movies this summer (Wolverine, Transformers, GI Joe), but District 9 was the only one I really enjoyed. I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie! This time we'll stay for the drive-in's double feature and catch The Taking of Pelham 123 afterwards.

Tomorrow morning I am going to take a family portrait for a sweet family I may wind up baby-sitting for. Am more than a little nervous, I've taken solo shots before and a few group ones of my own family, but never anything like this. I'm trying to keep my head up and be confident :)

Well hi all! Did you think I'd fallen off the planet?

Not much is actually new around here. Am going to see Julie & Julia today with an old friend who's moving back out of town. She will be missed, my movie buddie.

I may have a job watching children in the afternoons. Nothing too strenuous, just two sweet boys for a few hours after school each day. It's not definite yet, I will have more on that when I know more. I have been slacking in the blogging/scrapping department - ok I have been slacking in many departments - so I am hoping next week to begin working, sign up for some online classes, and get myself on a kind of rough schedule to be sure I get things done every day and not just loaf. Loaf, what a funny word :)

Ah hello all! Back to the grind, though the vacation was lovely. We got our garage cleaned out! Yay! I'm excited to be able to park my car in there again.

Today is the day I put my job search on the top of my to-do list, I have no excuses left. The house is clean (clean enough!) and we really need the income. Also I'm enrolling in Web Design classes online, it's high time I got back to school and I think online learning will work out well for me.

Finally Friday! Whoo! :)

The visit to Grandma's went well. She loved the keychain and we all had a good time playing with the little ones and talking. Today I am just glad it's Friday! I have bills to pay, errands to run. PLUS today is Joe's last day of work before his vacation next week! Yay! We're not going anywhere (couldn't afford to!), but he's taking off a week to work out finances, clean out the garage, etc. I have a honey-do list as long as my arm! LOL not really :) :)

One more thing I'd like to note, and a tip for y'all: Some of my past freebies were rather small. These days I like making them a full 11-12 inches across, so you can shrink them if needed, but can use them large if you want. So as I go through and arrange them into bunches for sale, I re-do the old ones larger. And today's had me stumped! I lost all my font files a few months back and didn't do a thorough job of replacing them. The "She will fill our lives with sunshine and our hearts with love" wordart was missing both fonts, so I couldn't re-make it! If you EVER have a problem figuring out a font, I recommend What the Font? It's a really easy service, you just upload the image with the font you want identified and go through some easy steps. Then, if the automated step-by-step procedure doesn't work out (as it didn't for me), you can submit your image to a forum and have other font-freaks help you out. I got an answer in less than 12 hours and both fonts were identified! Wow! It's a great resource, here is the URL: http://new.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

Also, starting next week I believe I will leave my freebies up for two weeks instead of just one. An executive decision LOL. They will still expire, so be sure to grab 'em while you can.

Today I am going to visit with my Grandma. I know she loves the distraction, I can't imagine what it's like to lose your husband of (almost) 62 years. Actually, all of my siblings (two younger sisters, one younger brother) are going as well..

Earlier this year, my sister Kelley gave my grandfather a keychain with tiny pictures in it of his grandkids and great-grandkids (4 each - I printed the tiny pictures). He carried it around with him and showed it proudly at every opportunity, even to the nurse in the ICU unit where he passed. When he was buried, the keychain was buried with him. So my siblings and I pitched in to buy another one for my Grandma. And today we're venturing to Sweetwater to all be there to give it to her. :)

First off I must say (again!) thank you all for the kind words about my grandfather. It's been rough and going back to "life as usual" has seemed a bit surreal. Every thought and prayer is appreciated, I feel blessed to have such kind blog buddies :)

Last night we went to see the new Harry Potter at the drive-in. It was GREAT! It's funny, when Harry Potter first became popular, I was soo uninterested. It seemed silly and I was in my late teens-early 20's, feeling far "too old" for such "juvenile" fare. It wasn't until about the time the third movie (Azkaban) came out that I fell in love with HP. The ABC Family channel was playing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone one day while hubbie was working and I decided to give it a try. I was immediately caught up. I recorded the movie to show Joe and ran out to buy the books. Since then we have seen every movie numerous times and when the Deathly Hallows book was released, we ignored the TV for days until we had it all read. Our dog is named Neville, after my favorite character (who didn't get much attention in this latest movie, to my dismay).

Never quite caught the Twilight bug as much.. I have read the books and seen the movie (and my sister is a die-hard Twilight fan). I would even go so far as to refer to myself as a firm Team Jacob member. But Harry has my heart :)

A Grandfather is

Ah so I'm back again.

That was rough. I've never lost a close family member, so it was all horribly new to me. And my siblings, too. But the service was beautiful and none of us broke down during our memorials. He was buried at a new Veterans Cemetery that has been established just out of town and he got a prime place, right in front when you enter.

It was all so emotional, and I believe all the stress has made me ill. Stuffy nose, sore throat, and my chest burns when I cough. Blech.

Have been working on wordart bunches, so don't forget to gobble up all the freebies I have posted while you still can, I will be taking the majority of them down this coming Monday (the 20th) and beginning to offer bunches for sale. The Bridge is Love

I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who has commented, emailed, called, prayed, etc. It means more than I can express and every single thought is so appreciated. I was very close with my grandparents and he is the first family member I have lost, so this is quite a blow. We knew his health was poor, but the decline happened so quickly.. and I know you can never be "ready."

I am praising God now that we were all (both children and all four grandchildren) able to see him before the end. He held our hands in the hospital and told us he loved us. I am so blessed to have that moment to hold onto. Many of my family members (including myself) were able to be there with him when he passed and I know it gives us all great comfort to know he was not alone.

For now I am going to take a few days break from blogging. I will be speaking at the funeral and arranging photos for the viewing, as well as dealing with my emotions.. So I will be useless online for a bit.

I know I claimed I would begin taking down freebies this coming Monday, but due to the circumstances, I think it will wait another week until Monday the 20th. At that time I will be taking down the majority my old freebies and will begin the process of selling them in bunches. Freebies will still be posted often, but only left up for a week at a time before being incorporated into bunches. Bad Time

Well late last night I received a call, my Grandpa was hospitalized. So my family and I took off in the middle of the night for his hometown where we visited with him briefly and sat in the tiny waiting room all night. He is doing well enough to be transferred to my town, a bigger town with a better hospital, but it is looking right now like he might not make it much farther. I am absolutely wiped out with emotion and lack of sleep, so no freebie today, but prayers are always appreciated.

Thank goodness that garage sale is over, that wiped me out! And the mansion visit was amazing, my sister Jesi and I took her two kids to the open house and explored the whole building. So beautiful. Today Joe is working, so I am having a me-day. Quiet time spent reading my newest book, Olive Kitteridge, and listening to soft country music. Ahh :) (ok ok and maybe some dishes LOL)

Well I'm back off to my sister's for garage sale, day two. Yesterday we did a pretty good job of getting rid of stuff, hopefully today will be even better. Ugggh, it is soo early, though! (Yes, that's whining LOL)

Also, later on today Joe and I (along with my sister and her family) are going to tour a town landmark, "the mansion." There is a large white house in our town that has always fascinated citizens. The surrounding homes are normal-sized neighborhood houses, but the mansion is gorgeous and very big. It stands alone on the outskirts of a southside neighborhood, in the school district I grew up in (and a very short walk from my husband's parents home). Recently a church nearby purchased the mansion and is restoring it to its "former glory." Today they are having an open house and I am very excited to be allowed on the grounds and inside! Ah yesterday was nice. Joe and I went out and had dinner at Chili's. I love Chili's, seems like we never go. Plus I got my blog look updated! I will say, doing the blog update made me realize I need to scrap more, I'm getting rusty. That is definitely something I will be working on. And a big THANK YOU to everyone those who commented and let me know it looks ok with different screens. Anyone noticing a problem, a comment would be mucho appreciated.

Tonight we are driving to visit my younger sister Kelley in her new rent house. Her and her husband David just got settled and we're driving the almost 3 hours to housewarm their house :) We'll get back to town late, but I get to see my too-adorable niece Caitlyn (she's 21 months) and her big brother Jacob. Jake is a hoot, he's three and a half and I love that (as the oldest) he's the first of my sisters' offspring to call me "Aunt Randi" and that is sweet to hear :)

And now about the freebie: Yesterday I touched on my past Days of Our Lives addiction - and I learned I wasn't the only one staying up to watch videotaped episodes! :)
Now onward to adulthood!

The summer before my senior year of high school, a new soap was launched that followed Days. It was called Passions and at first I thought it was SUPER lame, I was still a Days fan. I caught a few episodes of Passions while I lived at home, but it wasn't until I was moved out and married that I really caught the bug.

And all the while I would watch it, I would make fun of it. Of the plots, characters, and of myself for sitting there drinking it in. My best friend Stephanie was also a fan and my cousin-in-law Allison as well. Lots of days would see me (at 1:00pm on the dot) on the couch with my phone pressed to my ear talking to one or the other while I watched. I was all about Luis, what was he doing with Sheridan? Oh and Theresa and Ethan! That monkey-nurse Precious! And that witch Tabatha and her little Timmy! I continued to watch Days most days (hehe), but Passions had a real hold on me.

So after yesterday's post, I just had to offer this one. The fonts aren't right, but if you were a fan you get the gist. And even if you weren't, it's still a lovely sentiment:

These days I don't watch soaps. I went through a brief Dr. Phil phase (LOL), but mostly I don't watch daytime TV anymore. I actually went to high school with a guy who is on As the World Turns, he plays Zac Finn. But if I picked up a soap, I know it would be Days again, I feel like the characters are old acquaintances (dare I say friends? LOL). And after all this talk about it, I have a feeling I might just find myself sucked back in! :)

Days of Our Lives

Three guesses where my inspiration came from for this post :)

I grew up with a mother who was very hearing impaired. We never learned or used sign language, she could understand you if you looked straight at her and spoke loudly and clearly. But we did have a few deaf-person concessions we had to make, such as constant closed captioning at the bottom of the TV screen so she could follow shows. One of my best memories of that is Days of Our Lives. She was usually too busy during the day to catch it (the only soap she watched), but at night she would fire up the VCR and watch that day's episode. I would stay up with her often and was embarrassingly caught up in Sami, Lucas, Austin, and Carrie. And I was a dedicated viewer during Marlena's demon possession LOL.

Yesterday I sat down at the TV with some lunch and guess what happened to be on? I haven't caught an episode of Days in years, literally. I was shocked to find myself recognizing people (Stefano! Lucas!) and falling right back into the plot. Definitely not an addiction I need to pick back up! :)

Summer's Coming to Shine

Ah well I am definitely adjusting to my sore finger. It still hurts, but I'm getting much more familiar with what I can and can't get away with doing. We took the bandage off last night and let me tell you, it is ugly. Black stitches, red skin, ewwww. I hope it heals quickly.

Scrappers Workshop

Hey all. Hope everyone is having a nice evening :)

In finger news: the typing is getting easier. The mouse is still a challenge, but I'm adjusting. I'll get the stitches out in 7-12 days. My friend Steph, the newly graduated nurse, will remove them for me. Till then I'm having to do one-handed chores, one-handed driving, one-handed typing...sigh. But my father-in-law, a popular local radio personality, was born with only one arm, so I try and keep it in perspective :)

And in super awesome scrapping news: I am sponsoring a crop over at my friend Jenn (of ScrapKitty Design)'s Scrappers Workshop. I made up a Summer Tunes wordart kit that is being given away as a gift for joining their crop chat. Another Six-Pack Summer

So I sliced my finger open yesterday. Typing hurts.

I was cleaning the kitchen. We have these dark blue glass bowls from Wal-Mart and one of them had some chili in it. Instead of using the garbage disposal, I went over to the trash can and started tapping the bowl against the wall, to dislodge all the chili. The bowl shattered! ouch. Joe had to rush home from work and take me to the emergency room where I got 4 stitches. ouch again. It's right along the inside crease of my knuckle, so healing will be difficult and painful. Now my right ring finger is a fat wad of white gauze and I am having trouble operating the computer mouse with my left hand. What a bummer :(

Am in the process of setting up a small online store to sell my designs. My blog will be getting an upgrade as well. Joe has kinda latched on to the project and I am sure I am in good hands. Those changes will be coming up in the next few weeks, but plans are underway already. I will post more when there is more to tell :)

Oh so sorry y'all. I meant to get back online last night and whip up a couple wordarts, but I was laid low by a horrible headache. I wound up in the dark bedroom with a cold washcloth over my face while hubbie and his friend played Wii without me. What a way to spend an evening!

Chris was only 10 when I married his brother and back then he would call me by my last name (Kirk- like Captain James T). He was just adorable. Still is! Here, I'll post a picture of him:

My husband's cousin Marcus, passed away in Iraq since last Memorial Day. I didn't know him very well, but he was a sweet kid and I know he is sorely missed today. Today I can't help but remember his mother and sisters' sorrow and the way the patriots of this small town lined the funeral path with people, cars, flags, and salutes.

"Army Sgt. Reuben Marcus Fernandez III, 22, of Abilene, Texas; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; died on Oct. 11, 2008 of wounds sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in Majar Al Kabir, Iraq."

My favorite part!! Customizable ice cream cones. They are quite large (might need resizing) and each piece is separate so you can make your own combinations. A great compliment to any summer kit and definitely the part of this kit that makes ME smile :) :)

Can you believe I finished three whole days early? Wowie ;)

So I have to be honest, it did not surpass my Spring Time kit as my favorite kit. I tried! I still love the colors, though! And I'm releasing it in pieces for the first time ever, so make sure to check back for the rest. Later today I'll post the rest of the papers and then pieces will be posted daily. You should have the whole kit before Memorial Day! Stay tuned on Saturday evening for the add-on, it is definitely the very best part of the kit; even if you're not crazy about the kit overall, the add-on is too cute to pass up so be sure to pop by to grab that!

And go easy on me! Kits are definitely something I am just getting used to, so they might not quite be up to par with my wordarts. I never meant to stick with wordart only, so I am trying to be brave every now and then and venture out of my comfort zone.
